1、 Divided by structure

01. V-belt

It should be composed of a tension line layer, a compressed adhesive layer, and a top cover layer. Its main structure is generally in the form of cut edge teeth, used to drive generators, air compressors, and power steering pumps, and hung on the crankshaft pulley. Low bending loss, high transmission efficiency, low heat generation, fast heat dissipation, suitable for small pulleys and operation at high line speeds. 

02. Synchronous belt

Using steel wire rope or fiberglass as the strong layer, covered with a circular belt of polyurethane or chloroprene rubber, the inner circumference of the belt is made into teeth to mesh with the toothed pulley. The transmission ratio is accurate, the force on the shaft is small, the structure is compact, the oil resistance, wear resistance and aging resistance are good. 

03. Multi wedge belt

Composed of multiple micro V-faces, which are wider and thinner, it has greater flexibility when surrounding smaller transmission wheels, and is easier to bend at the back of the transmission belt. It runs better in modern compact engines and has been increasingly widely used.

2、 Classified by function

01. Timing belt

A crucial component in the engine valve system, connected to the crankshaft and matched with the necessary transmission ratio, can ensure the accuracy of intake and exhaust timing.

02. Fan belt

The belt driven by the crankshaft is mainly used to drive the engine fan and water pump, and to dissipate heat from the engine body.

03. Air conditioning belt

Used to drive generators and air conditioning compressors, the belt is suspended on the crankshaft pulley and tightened by the air conditioning belt tensioner. When the belt is damaged, the air conditioning compressor will not start.

04. Generator belt

The belt on the generator is driven by the engine through a pulley. Some are driven by a single belt, while others are dedicated generator belts. The specific number of belts depends on the vehicle configuration.
