At that time, the Baojun 730 was a dominant force among domestic SUVs, becoming a "national icon" in the hearts of many during an era when domestic cars lagged behind. Now that the Baojun 730 has become a thing of the past, SAIC-GM-Wuling has revived the lucky number 730 and placed it in the Starlight series, undoubtedly aiming to make 730 a legendary car once again.

The Starlight 730, launched on November 12 this year, initially faced skepticism. With a starting price of 73,000 yuan—already a premium figure among Wuling's models—it further entered the fiercely competitive MPV segment. The decline of the Jichen model was still fresh in people's minds, and the idea of spending "70,000 yuan on a Wuling MPV" likely exceeded many consumers' expectations.  However, the Starlight 730 has lived up to its promise, achieving cumulative deliveries of over 11,000 units in just half a month. Undeniably, an entire generation of Chinese consumers harbors a unique emotional connection to Wuling and Baojun, which undoubtedly boosted the Starlight 730's appeal.

Of course, in an environment where domestic MPVs are generally focused on high-end products and can easily sell for three to four hundred thousand yuan, the Starlight 730 only starts at 70000 yuan and comes in three versions: plug-in hybrid, pure electric, and fuel powered, giving it a clear and authentic feel. Emotions can indeed bring in some sales, but it's not just emotions. The Starlight 730 continues Wuling's cost-effectiveness advantage, helping Wuling also get a share of the MPV market. Except for the recently launched Binguo S, other popular models, including the Wuling Hongguang MINIEV and Binguo, are priced below 50000 yuan. Once the selling price exceeds 50000 yuan, the market competitiveness of Wuling will significantly decrease.
