According to foreign media reports, Subaru's three factories in Japan have resumed production. More than a week ago, a worker died while working, leading to the emergency shutdown of these three factories, resulting in a loss of up to 20000 vehicles in the company's car production.
On February 26th, Subaru resumed operations at its major global production base. The company stated that it had taken relevant measures to prevent a recurrence of the accident on February 13th, and subsequently restarted production. In that accident, a 60 year old senior employee was crushed to death by a 25 ton mold.
A Subaru spokesperson refused to disclose the details of the measures taken by the company during this period to review the accident and strengthen safety regulations. But the spokesperson stated that the suspension of operations was a decision of management, not a result of union protests.

After the accident, Subaru suspended production for 8 days at two assembly plants and one powertrain plant located in northern Tokyo, which are responsible for producing the main models sold in the United States.
Subaru stated that the 8-day shutdown was also out of respect for the families and colleagues of the deceased. The company refused to disclose the exact number of cars lost. But according to Subaru's production of approximately 2581 vehicles per day in Japan released in December last year, the company may have lost about 20000 vehicles in these 8 days.
The Yajima assembly plant in Subaru was responsible for producing the Impreza compact sedan, as well as the Outback, Crosstrek, and Forester crossover cars. The nearby Main factory is responsible for producing BRZ, Yibao, and Xubao, as well as WRX sports cars and Levorg station wagons for sale in the Japanese market. The local Oizumi engine and gearbox factory has also been affected.
