Today, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers released the "Proposal on Standardizing Enterprise Data Release" (hereinafter referred to as the "Proposal"), urging enterprises to stop publishing weekly sales lists to the public, avoid using comparative expressions, publish related rankings and other content, jointly maintain a fair competition environment, guide industry self-discipline, and promote the healthy development of the industry. The Proposal proposes two specific initiatives:
1. Standardize data release and maintain industry credibility: Advocate enterprises to stop releasing weekly sales charts to avoid fragmented information leading to one-sided interpretation and reducing the interference of misleading public opinion on the market. Advocate enterprises to release their own business data on a cycle that conforms to the operating rules of the automotive industry, such as monthly, quarterly, and annual, to jointly ensure the healthy and stable operation of the industry.
The background for proposing this initiative is that in recent years, China's automotive industry has accelerated its transformation towards electrification, intelligence, and networking, and has achieved leading advantages. However, in the increasingly fierce competition, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers has noticed that some car companies frequently release sales weekly lists that do not represent market rules, with unclear data sources, leading to misinterpretation of public opinion, disrupting industry order, and intensifying "internal competition".
2. Advocate for healthy competition and eliminate improper promotion: Enterprise promotion should focus on its own business results, and the content of promotion should pay attention to the company's own technological breakthroughs, product innovation, and service upgrades, avoiding the use of comparative expressions and publishing related rankings. It is prohibited to create vicious competition through dragging and comparing, and promote the industry to shift from "data competition" to "service and value competition".
In the "Proposal", the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers also proposed that in addition to enterprises actively responding, third-party organizations and media should also respond to the above initiatives, stop publishing weekly sales lists, actively convey positive achievements such as industry technological progress and green transformation, guide the public to rationally view market fluctuations, resist speculation on short-term data, and exaggerate anxiety, shape positive energy for industry development, jointly create a clean and upright industry environment, and promote the high-quality development of China's automobile industry.
