Recently, Ningde Times New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shaanxi Heavy Duty Truck Co., Ltd. The two parties will carry out comprehensive and multi-level deep cooperation in the field of heavy-duty truck chassis battery swapping, jointly promoting cost reduction, standard setting, and market cooperation in heavy-duty truck transportation logistics.

Yang Jun, General Manager of CATL's battery swapping business and CEO of CATL, and Zhou Hui, Deputy General Manager of Shaanxi Heavy Duty Truck Group, attended and witnessed the signing. Zhu Zhengliang, General Manager of CATL's Qiji Sales Center, and Zhao Chengjun, Sales Director and General Manager of Shaanxi Heavy Duty Truck Group, respectively represented both parties in signing the contract.

According to the agreement, both parties will leverage their respective advantages and cooperate comprehensively to develop heavy-duty truck chassis swapping business. Both parties will jointly develop a new chassis type battery swapping vehicle model, promoting energy consumption reduction and weight reduction of the entire vehicle through forward development. The goal is to achieve a comprehensive power consumption reduction of 1.2 kWh/km and 0.8 kWh/km for 4 × 2 tractor and 4 × 2 express cargo vehicles, respectively, and a vehicle weight reduction of 9.8 tons and 8 tons, respectively. The new model is expected to be launched in the second half of the year 25.

In terms of industry standard setting, both parties will jointly promote the implementation of relevant standards for chassis swapping, promote unified swapping standards, and promote the standardized development of the industry. In addition, both parties will cooperate in areas such as investment in battery swapping stations, promotion of vehicle models, and hierarchical utilization of power batteries, to build a battery swapping ecosystem covering the entire industry chain.

At the "New Generation Heavy Truck Swap Ecology Release Event" on May 18th, CATL announced that its chassis swapping solution has achieved "electrical parity", and will further reduce vehicle weight and wind resistance with its automotive partners to achieve "electricity to gas savings". In this cooperation, both parties will work together to take the lead in moving towards a new stage of "electricity to gas economy", setting a demonstration benchmark for cost reduction and efficiency improvement in the heavy truck logistics industry.
