With the support of Xingrui AI Cloud Power 2.0, Geely's Thunder God electric hybrid system has also been upgraded in terms of energy saving, performance, safety, etc., and officially upgraded to Thunder God AI electric hybrid 2.0.

Geely's first Star Rui AI Cloud Power 2.0 is based on the comprehensive computing power of 23.5ELOPS and massive data of over 2 million users and over 20 billion driving miles, giving the system a "god's perspective". Combined with more than 1000 segmented scenarios for self-learning, it actively provides accurate, coherent, and personalized power services. During driving, the system can also reconstruct multi-dimensional data such as navigation route, average speed, travel time, congestion conditions, traffic lights, speed limits, etc., and perform real-time calculations on dynamic variables during the journey to achieve the optimal combination of energy.

Under the Starry AI Cloud Power 2.0 system, there are three power lines of Thunder AI Hybrid 2.0: Thunder EM-i AI Hybrid, Thunder EM-P AI Hybrid, and Thunder Ethanol Hydrogen EF.

In simple terms, the Thunder God EM-i AI hybrid focuses on energy efficiency. Equipped with the world's most mass-produced electric hybrid dedicated engine, the thermal efficiency can reach 47.26%. Under CLTC conditions, the Galaxy A7, which is the first to be equipped with this technology, has a fuel consumption of 2.67L per 100km and a theoretical comprehensive range of over 2100km.


At the same time, the P3 motor has a power of 175 kW and an acceleration time of 7.1 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. Moreover, the acceleration time decay between 0 and 100 km/h in fully charged and depleted states is less than 0.03 seconds. Therefore, regardless of whether there is electricity, the power performance of the Thunder EM-i AI hybrid will not have a huge difference. Of course, OTA can also continuously evolve the power system.

For the Thunder God EM-P AI hybrid, high performance is its biggest highlight. The redundant design of five power sources (engine, P1, P3, rear wheel dual motors) as "backups" ensures that in the event of any power source failure, other power sources can still ensure the normal operation of the vehicle. In addition, the system also adopts a dynamic torque distribution scheme, combined with the intelligent all terrain recognition function of Xingrui AI Cloud Power. Based on navigation maps and intelligent assisted driving information, it can automatically recognize various information such as the external environment, tire slip ratio, body posture, and user intention, and dynamically allocate four-wheel torque according to these information.

The Thunder God EM-P AI hybrid is mainly aimed at the mid to large vehicle market. Taking the Geely Galaxy M9 as an example, the car adopts an independent three motor four-wheel drive configuration, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of only 4.5 seconds; At the same time, the fuel consumption per 100 kilometers is at the 4L level, and the comprehensive range exceeds 1500km.

Compared to the Thunder God EM-i AI hybrid and Thunder God EM-P AI hybrid, Thunder God Ethanol Hydrogen EF is more futuristic.  


In terms of fuel adaptability, Thunder God Alcohol Hydrogen EF supports various forms of energy such as methanol, gasoline, and electricity. Especially, gasoline and methanol can be mixed and added in any proportion, greatly improving the flexibility of fuel use for users in different scenarios. Meanwhile, the ultra-low temperature cold start technology has achieved stable start-up of methanol fuel in an environment of -40 ℃, effectively solving the problem of difficult start-up of methanol fuel in extreme low temperature environments and expanding the application scenarios of methanol power.

According to the current plan, Geely will launch two models (one sedan and one SUV) equipped with this technology in the fourth quarter of this year. The fifth generation methanol engine they are equipped with has a thermal efficiency of 48.15%, which theoretically only costs 20 cents per kilometer.  


For Geely, the release of Thunder AI Hybrid 2.0 is a milestone event. If it can survive and evolve in the increasingly complex and fierce market competition in the future, looking back, Thunder AI Hybrid 2.0 will also be a milestone event in the history of China's automotive development.
