According to the leading domestic platform for collecting information on defective automotive products and handling consumer complaints, Chezhiwang, a total of 20425 valid complaints from car owners were received in April 2026 (including 94 complaints from third-party platforms and aftermarket tires), an increase of 8.4% month on month and 39.3% year-on-year.


Data shows that this month, the effective complaint information received by the Car Quality Network involved a total of 967 vehicle models, of which 260 models had complaints in the double digits or higher. In addition, Chezhiwang received a total of 18702 responses from car companies regarding complaints this month (including some responses to complaints from previous months). After removing the information that the complainant voluntarily applied to withdraw the complaint due to the car company's proper resolution, the top 30 car series (models) with the highest complaint volume in April 2026 are ranked as follows:

In April, the sentiment of domestic automobile consumers' rights protection continued to heat up, and the monthly complaint volume once again exceeded 20000, setting a new historical record for the same period. From the ranking of the list, over 70% of car models have seen a month on month increase in complaints, with 7 of the top 10 models receiving over 100 complaints. Among them, NIO's two models, the Le Dao L90 and Firefly, have seen a significant increase in complaints compared to the previous month, with the former ranking first on the complaint list. From the perspective of typical complaint issues, the complaints about these two models are mainly focused on "disputes over the iteration of old and new models". According to feedback from some car owners, the Le Dao L90 and Firefly Firefly have undergone continuous updates and upgrades in the short term, and they have encountered rapid iteration of configuration and versions shortly after purchasing their own cars, which has caused a "backstab" for old car owners and subsequently triggered large-scale concentrated complaints and rights protection.
1、 Proportion of brand attribute complaints


In April, the number of complaints from independent and joint venture brands continued the growth trend of the previous month, increasing by 7.2% and 10.6% respectively month on month, with the latter's proportion once again rising to over half of the total. Relatively speaking, the number and proportion of complaints against imported brands have both decreased compared to March.

From the perspective of the proportion of complaints by country, German brands have shown a significant decline in reputation this month, with a 46.4% increase in complaints compared to the previous month, representing a 6.4 percentage point increase in proportion. In contrast, European brands experienced the largest month on month decline in complaints, with a decrease of 30.9% compared to March, indicating an overall improvement in their reputation.
