Honda Motor Co. recently announced its latest sales figures in China. Honda sold 137,000 vehicles in China in July, up 17.8% from a year earlier, according to the data. From January to July, a total of 749,000 new cars were sold in China, down 13.1% year-on-year.

    For the joint venture, Guangqi Honda's sales in July were 69,000 units, up 24.5 percent year on year. Dongfeng Honda's terminal sales volume was 6.7 units, up 11.7 percent year on year. In terms of cumulative sales, from January to July, guangzhou Automobile Honda sold 38.4 vehicles in total, down 11.9% year-on-year. Dongfeng Honda sold 36.4 units, down 14.3 percent from a year earlier.

"Civic sales exceed 20,000 units for 3 consecutive months"

    In terms of specific models, in July 2020, The sales volume of Seven Honda models in China exceeded 10,000, namely Accord, Hao Ying, Bin Zhi, Ling Pai, Civic, Honda CR-V and Honda XR-V. It is worth mentioning that the sales volume of Civic has been above 20,000 units for three consecutive months since May.

After the outbreak of the epidemic, The sales of new Honda UR-V and HATCHBACK, a domestic Civic, have been on the rise. In July this year, the sales volume of a single month in July was the highest ever.

    Despite the outbreak, Honda has stuck to its annual sales target of more than 1.55 million vehicles, nearly half of which have been achieved so far. The strong performance in July, coupled with more product additions and the arrival of the Golden Nine Silver and Ten season, will make Honda's annual sales target this year more likely to succeed. However, Honda's total production capacity in China is 1.37 million vehicles, which means that the factory will continue the tradition of overtime work, which is good news in the midst of a cold winter.
