Independent brands accounted for 75% of the total sales

     On August 8, Changan Automobile officially released the latest sales data. According to the data, in July 2020, Chang 'an Automobile sold 164,931 units in a single month, with a year-on-year growth of 38.5%, continuing the upward momentum in the first half of the year.

     Although compared with 194,406 cars in the previous month, Chang 'an automobile fell by 15% month-on-month, but compared with the same period last year, Chang 'an automobile has achieved year-on-year growth for four consecutive months, becoming one of the few enterprises with positive growth in the first half of the year.

Sales of Changan's Chinese brands are the main reason for the company's growth. According to data, the sales volume of Changan's Chinese brands reached 123,548 units in July, with a year-on-year growth of 49.9%.

From the perspective of models, the sales volume of key models such as Changan UNI-T, Chang 'an CS75 and Chang 'an Yidu all exceeded 10,000 units. Among them, the sales volume of UNI-T is 10,000 units, Chang 'an CS75 is 21,000 units, and escape series is 19,000 units, all showing strong momentum. Meanwhile, Chang 'an CS35 and Chang 'an CS75 sold 6,389 and 7,575 new cars respectively in July.

In terms of joint venture brands, Changan Mazda and Changan Ford also saw a slight improvement, with Changan Mazda's sales volume increasing by 3.11 percent to 11,920 units in July. Changan Ford's July sales rose 20.22 per cent to 21,726 vehicles.

New cars will be rolled out in September

In 2019, Changan launched a series of CS models including CS35 PLUS, CS55 PLUS and CS75 PLUS. In the first half of this year, changan also launched escape PLUS, CS55 pure electric version, Benben E-Star and uni-T, the first model in the high-end product series. At present, Chang 'an Automobile product series has formed "CS family, escape series, gravity series" and other three series.

      According to official data, Chang 'an will also introduce the fugitive all-electric E-Life and CS75 PLUS 2021 models this year. CS75 PLUS 2021 will be available in September.

      According to chang 'an Automobile released a large "turnround" financial report in the first half of the year, after deducting non-recurring profit and loss, the actual net profit loss of Chang 'an Automobile in the first half of the year exceeded 2.24 billion yuan in the same period of last year, which indicated that it did not help Chang 'an Automobile make profits in its main business.

But after its strategic adjustment in the first half of the performance and the future of the new car to join, securities institutions remain positive. China International Capital Corporation said that it expects changan's autonomous sales volume to remain strong in the third quarter, and the cost reduction is expected to be reflected in its second-half performance. In the medium and long term, it sees sufficient growth momentum and maintains its "buy" rating.

     By 2020, Chang 'an aims to produce and sell more than 1.91 million vehicles, an 8% increase over 2019. By the end of July, Chang 'an has achieved 52 percent of its annual target.
