It is understood that Tesla has been actively communicating with car owners and proactively providing a variety of solutions, all of which were rejected by the car owners' "family" at the scene.
The following is Tesla's statement:
At 8-9 pm on August 18, a large number of reports appeared on the Internet with the title "Yibuyue and Pinduoduo assisted Wuhan car owners to successfully pick up the car". The report showed the delivery process of the car owner's pick up in graphic form. At the same time, the owner of the car pretended to be at the hotel to discuss with our delivery colleagues on how to repurchase the car as soon as possible after completing the "lifting the car" and "photographing".
At 1 a.m. on August 19, the owner of the car suddenly accepted a media interview late at night, and said that the car was ordered under the name of his family because his name was blacked out and he could not buy it.
Here, we make the following instructions:
1. Tesla has never blocked any car owner, and has never had a blacklist.
2. We have been actively communicating with car owners from beginning to end, and proactively provided a variety of solutions, all of which were rejected by the "family" of the car owner at the scene.
3. According to the delivery data, it is found that the vehicle to pick up the car has been ordered on the official website on July 28, and the time for our company to cancel the Wuhan owner’s order is August 14, and the owner described the use of family members due to being hacked. The notion of placing an order by name does not match.
4. In the report of the so-called "Wuhan vehicle owner delivery", the trailers, signature documents and delivery procedures used did not comply with Tesla's delivery specifications and were not Tesla's normal procedures. We express our strong indignation at this practice of creating news through self-directed and self-acting, maliciously misleading public opinion, and advise relevant parties to abide by the bottom line of basic business ethics and stop playing with public opinion and consumer sentiment for their own benefit.
5. Our company reserves the right to pursue relevant legal responsibilities.
