Organizers of the Washington auto show said on August 20 that the start date of the 2021 auto show will be postponed from January 29, solstice, February 7, to March 26, solstice, April 1, due to the severity of covid-19.
"We believe the timing change is in the best interests of the attendees, our auto manufacturing partners and the District of Columbia," organizers said in a statement. Our most important priority is to ensure the safety of our participants, and we firmly believe that a two-month extension will allow us to prepare for the comprehensive, immersive events that participants have become accustomed to."
As of now, acura, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, Jeep, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Lexus, Lincoln, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota and Volkswagen are among the brands confirmed to participate in the 2021 Washington Auto Show, the company said. It seems that auto companies had some confidence that the epidemic will improve next year, but the current situation is clearly not the case.
Security and social distance measures will also be implemented during the exhibition, including regular check-in, temperature measurement and mandatory wearing of masks, organizers said.
