Exporting to Europe is like a company listing, which is the general trend.
Recently, according to relevant media reports, China’s new car manufacturer Weimar has signed an agreement of intent with Uber. The Weimar EX5 will be exported to Europe as an optional model for Uber’s drivers. At the same time, according to people familiar with the matter, the Weimar EX5-related models purchased by Uber will be placed in more than ten European countries, including the United Kingdom. In order to reduce carbon emissions, these regions have greater policy support for new energy vehicles.
However, there is still a certain distance from the real export. Prior to this, the Weimar EX5 needs to meet the regulations and standards of European countries, including charging and vehicle safety. From last month's sales data, it can be seen that its overall new car delivery volume was 3,003, a year-on-year increase of 46.1% and a month-on-month increase of 42.5%. Cumulative sales from January to October were 16,889 vehicles. Since the delivery of the Weimar EX5, the cumulative sales volume has reached nearly 39,000, and it continues to rank first in the sales of a single model of new car manufacturers.
In contrast to the European new energy market, according to the EV sale statistics, European new energy sales have maintained a good growth. After the EU began to implement the new carbon dioxide emission standards in January this year, the pace of development has further accelerated. Although the impact of the ongoing epidemic on this market segment continues, thanks to many European countries that have introduced stimulus policies for the auto market, its sales have begun to pick up. Especially in the past September, the corresponding sales reached a new high, reaching 160,059 vehicles.
For manufacturers, there is incremental demand, and the European new energy market happens to have a sales gap, so it is not surprising that Weimar plans to export. In fact, before Weimar, AIWAYS officially exported to Europe in May of this year, and has now entered France, Corsica, Germany, Israel, the Netherlands and other countries. At the same time, on September 24, Beijing time, Xiaopeng Motors announced that the first batch of 100 G3s was officially exported to Norway.
And just this month, according to related news, Weilai Automobile has made substantial progress in its plan to "go to sea" in Europe. At present, an export business team has been set up, and related business units are also being organized and established. They are named "Marco Polo Project" internally. According to people familiar with the matter, NIO’s "going out to sea" will be launched from the European new energy market. It is Copenhagen, Denmark. The former will build the first NIO House in the local area. It will mainly promote the ES8 and ES6 models. The sales target is 7,000 vehicles within two years. From this point of view, Europe has become the second market for Chinese new car manufacturers to deploy and compete with each other.
