Changan Automobile’s sales in April broke another 200,000, independent brands continued to exert strength, and joint venture brands were slightly weak

The data shows that Changan Automobile produced 204,400 vehicles in that month, an increase of 21.97% year-on-year; sales of 202,300 vehicles, an increase of 26.78% year-on-year. From January to April, the cumulative production was 796,500 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 79.50%; the cumulative sales were 844,300 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 82.32%. It can be seen that the production and sales of Changan Automobile are basically balanced in the first 4 months, or that its inventory is in a reasonable range, and it will not bring great pressure to dealers.

  

  It is worth mentioning that as of April, Changan Automobile has completed 38.33% of its 2.2 million annual sales target. If this sales trend continues, it will not be difficult to complete the annual sales target.

  

  Among them, Changan Chongqing, Hebei and Hefei three bases produced 116,200 vehicles in the month, a year-on-year increase of 39%. Cumulative production from January to April was 464,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 88%; monthly sales of 116,100 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 55%, 1- Cumulative sales in April amounted to 506,700 vehicles, an increase of 103% year-on-year.

  

  In terms of vehicle models, the Changan Blue Whale family achieved 90,000 vehicles. Among them, the monthly sales of CS75 are 23,700, the monthly sales of Yidong are 16,200, the monthly sales of CS55 are 11,500, and the monthly sales of Ruicheng CC are 26,900. In addition, the UNI series also achieved good sales results, with monthly sales of 6,608 UNI-K and 7,749 monthly sales of UNI-T. A few days ago, Changan Automobile took the opportunity to launch the UNI-T sports model again, enriching the UNI sequence model matrix to satisfy more young consumers, and further forming a "gemini" with UNI-K to hit the high-end SUV market.

  The overall sales of Changan Auchan Automobile in April were 20,300, and the cumulative sales from January to April were 92,500, a year-on-year increase of 83.2%. In April, Changan Auchan X5 sold 11,200 units, and the sales volume exceeded 10,000 units for May consecutively since its launch. The cumulative sales of Changan Auchan X7 from January to April were 25,300 units, and the results were gratifying.

  

  In terms of joint venture brands, Changan Ford became the brand with the largest decline in Changan Group in April. Data shows that Changan Ford’s April production was 15,300 vehicles, a year-on-year decline of 12.23%. The cumulative production from January to April was 7.5 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 149.84%; the month’s sales volume was 15,400 vehicles, a year-on-year decline of 24.93%, and the speed ended last April. In the past 12 months, sales have continued to rise, and the cumulative sales from January to April are 79,800 vehicles, an increase of 56.64% year-on-year.

  

  In fact, two years after the implementation of the "Ford China 2.0" plan, Ford's performance in China has improved greatly, including the launch of several new cars such as the Ruiji, the domestic Explorer, and the Ruijie PLUS.   It is worth mentioning that Changan Ford's personnel changes have been quite frequent in recent times, which may have a certain impact on its sales. On May 7, Zhu Jiang, the chief operating officer of Ford’s China Electric Vehicle Division, officially resigned today; On May 6, Ford China re-issued information on personnel changes at Changan Ford, and Yang Song was transferred to deputy general manager of Ford’s China Ford Brand Passenger Vehicle Division. Lu Yi replaced Yang Song as the president of the national sales and service organization and a member of the executive management committee of Changan Ford. According to industry insiders, the sharp decline in sales in April may be the main reason for Yang Song's transfer.

  

  After the aforementioned adjustment of Ford China's organizational structure and management structure, Ford may bring new breakthroughs in China.

  

  Another joint venture brand, Changan Mazda, produced 11,200 vehicles in April, down 13.47% year-on-year. Cumulative production from January to April was 41,200 vehicles, an increase of 28.42% year-on-year; sales in April were 11,300 vehicles, down 3.9% year-on-year, 1- Cumulative sales in April were 40,600 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 39.58%.

  

  On April 6, according to China Business News, FAW Group, Mazda, and Changan Automobile are in negotiations. The three parties plan to merge the Mazda brand-related businesses that FAW Mazda Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as "FAW Mazda") is carrying out into Changan. Changan Mazda Automobile Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Changan Mazda"), a subsidiary of Automobile.

  

  All three parties denied this news. Insiders of FAW Mazda told Gasgoo that they had not received relevant information. However, from the current situation of FAW Mazda, it may be a good thing to merge into Changan Mazda.
