Toyota finally lowered its production forecast for the 2022 fiscal year after resisting the production hell for several months. Due to the continuous chip shortage, the capacity plan for November must be cut. But no new goals were proposed.

Previously, despite the turmoil in the global supply chain and repeated cuts in Toyota's monthly plans, Toyota still stubbornly adhered to its annual goal of producing 9.7 million vehicles in this fiscal year.

In September, Toyota also said that it hoped to produce 900000 cars a month from September to November to make up for the loss of sales earlier this year. But then Toyota reduced its output in September to 850000 and in October to 800000.

In a statement released on October 21, Toyota said that its total sales in November would also drop to 800000, including 250000 in Japan and 550000 overseas.

The shutdown of new cars in Japanese factories will affect 11 production lines in 8 factories. The affected models include Corolla, Corolla Cross, RAV4, Camry, Crown, Land Cruiser, Prado and 4Runner, as well as Lexus LS, IS RC, NX, UX, ES and GX.

Toyota said: "Due to the production suspension plan, the annual output in 2023 is expected to be lower than the 9.7 million vehicles previously predicted." But this target only calculates the output of Toyota and Lexus brands; It does not include the comprehensive data of Dafa or Hino and other subsidiaries.
